Yikes! Pontape is the ultimate proof how sometimes it doesn't take a combination of brain surgery & a sense of unmatchable innovation to get your name out there...
Renato Cohen's killer just recently popped back into my mind when I re-heard it at a party some weekends ago. Amazing. It sounds simply amazing on any decent large speaker system.
Through all its simplicity, it brings forth a reckless attitude and instant likeability, with a determined mission to drive party crowds into a frenzy.
Here is the formula: never ending layers of hard percussion atop a never ending fat bass line which could easily redifine the term groovy. Both are just coming at you without the intent of stopping.
The track sounds like it could have been made in no time. Irresistible dance floor madness, and it doesn't pretend to be anything else. A classic.

The original mix here is where it's at... an absolutely infectious percussive groove that treads the line between house and techno with equal measures of simplicity and funk. Sure to rock any dancefloor.
