Of most Kirk's albums, and appearently there are plenty to choose from by now, 'Virtual State' is one his most defined pieces of work - very pleasant, calm and hypnotic. Something he always captures the ear with on his Cabaret Voltaire aftermaths, although in some cases things end up closer to exaggeration regarding the length of Kirk's pieces, spotted in endless cca 9-minute rounds of 'Alphaphone Vol. 1 - Step Write Run' to name a few... 'Virtual State' might be just the case as music responds between 5-9 minutes each track, but in here there is this beautiful continuous sequence marking each track can't do without the other, so the final effect makes it a perfect whole. Ideal for traveling.
