Probably one of the greatest singles ever. The guitar break is electric. Challenging the vocal throughout the opening two verses and middle eight then powering though. Brilliant. Not however the work of James Burton who is playing second lead, urging the lead on. It is by Joe Maphis brought in for the session by the ever astute and tasteful Ricky Nelson. Just 1.52. Has a record ever sounded this joyful since?

Waitin' In School is pure stripped back rock and roll. Almost a rap from Ricky, with a hint of Gene Vincent. Again two great guitar solos from Joe and James.
