I've got no idea who Kevin Hanton is but he did a very good job mixing this Deepchord/Rod Modell material. This CD is more or less a companion album to Modell's "Vibrasound" which was released around the same time. The majority of music on here is material from that album mixed to be a continuous techno experience. There is also some unreleased music on here too but I have a hard time picking it out and knowing when it comes into play... Its worth noting that CD is fairly hard to get a hold of now days so if you come across it for sale somewhere, don't hesitate to buy!

Although a solid album (the source material is brilliant after all) this mix adds nothing and I find that this mix in fact detracts from the songs quite a bit. The songs all sound pitched down, drawing down the energy of the tracks that originally had well-paced tempos balancing the dreamy synth lines. It doesn't help that some of the best deepchord tracks are omitted from the mix. The main value of this album is the unreleased material, in my opinion.

Outstanding reinterpretation & reconstruction of Deep Chord material by Kevin Hanton. The titular track, "Continuous Flow-Mix" is an apt a description as could be given. This mix consists of deconstructed Deep Chord aural components reassembled into a sublimely flowing listen. The beginning is midtempo, the center begins to slow down a bit, the ending is downright langourish (no negative connotation intended).

Track 11 begins the descent into what I can only imagine is the sonic equivalent of life in slo-mo; the massively effective dub basslines & swirling synths continue on through Track 14 before finally picking up the pace a bit until the end of the mix.

As Deep Chord:Basic Channel comparisons are inevitable, I'd describe this as a mid- to downtempo analog to Scion's "Arrange & Process BC Tracks". But it's much, much better.

This affair demands detailed, dedicated listening. Very subtle, intricate & enjoyable!
