This single has standard Top Banana artwork and the usual Top Banana catalogue number and yet every occurance of "Top Banana" on the artwork has been replaced by "Blue Banana". Perhaps this is a surrealist joke (in connection with the Magritte painting on the front)?
It starts off with epic rising classical chords as though a call to the dancefloor. This intro comes to a natural end and the tough electro tinged beats kick in. The hypnotic groove builds using a bubbly bass line and simple house staples before the classical chords from the intro weave their way back in. The obligatory break down strips it back down back to the chords before teasingly building back up with acidic licks. After that it pretty much changes direction to become joyous as opposed to emotional, leaving you wearing a huge smile. The beats eventually come to a drum roll end and the melody winds down, thus providing potential for some excellent mixes for any DJs out there.
The other two tracks are somewhat groovier and more acidic affairs, and although not in the same league as 'Lifesigns', certainly contribute to make this an excellent overall package.
