The 'Live Garage' mix seems to be the one that has stood the test of time. A genre crossing house/garage/soul record with the smoky, effortless vocals of Peven Everett defining it. RDJs production is quite unusual in that the percussion is buried deep in the background while the sub bass takes the foreground. The 2 step rhythm made this a classic in the UK garage scene back in the day.

This is the track that introduced Peven Everett to the house music community.

If any nineties track deserves the comment "this still sounds fresh today" it's this piece. Filed by many under 2-step or UK-garage which is pretty much an insult to something this timeless.

This is spiritual dance music that crosses many musical boundaries (straight up dub-bassline, soulfull house-chords, great vocal and strong melody) and is loved by everyone from jazzdancers to notorious house-heads.

Rumour goes this track is actually written and performed by Peven Everett and released by Roy Davis under his own name.

Judging by the airing this receives on my local pirate stations there is no doubt as to the 'classic' tag this record is so often lumbered with.
The remixes on this record don't even come close to the warmth and depth of the original. Peven Everett's voice is full of soul and melancholy and wraps itself around the, dare I say funky 2 step beats and that instantly recognisable bassline.

People might put this in the dreadful Garage/ 2 Step brigade but Roy Davis Jnr is a House music producer first and foremost and a very good one at that. Yes he has utilised Garage /2 Step influences from around that period, particularly with the beats but this record goes to another level. This is modern Nu-Soul of the very highest order that is perfect for an end of the night anthem. Soulful downtempo House or whatever you want to call it, just not shitty UK Garage or 2 Step, this is one incredibly soulful piece of Dance music.

This is one of the most memorable garage tunes every made. Created by a house producer, the live garage mix has made an everlasting impact on the UK garage scene. With its smooth vocals and deep bassline it sounds great as a chill out tune or one to get you raving in the clubs. A definite classic.
