What a wonderful record!
Relaxed, breathing, joyful minimalish gypsy house that reconnects with the great hours of proper New-Jersey and Chicago 90s productions with a very fresh and modern approach.
"Nesrib" uses garagey male and female vocals through an absolutely cool cut-up technique and builds and builds until a really sweaty tribal climax, like a revival of the greater and most dubby/hypnotic Mood II Swing/MAW/Kerri Chandler moments seen through a druggy and happy Ricardo Villalobos-like prism. "Dim Dim" is more stripped down sexy minimalism with an obsessive echo and a male voice repeating "hmmm, bass!" over and over ; while "Holly Bolly" is the gypsyest joint of the record, a precussive and tribal mess full of charm.
No wonder Sis is pointed out as the next Ricardo, this EP is easily one the best and more importantly *sexiest* house records of 2008 by miles.
Fucking essential.
