In all honesty, I have just been completly blown away.
I was digging for trax for an upcoming oldskool set i have to play,
and this baby fell off the shelf (as they do).
Sometimes you have a tendancy to overlook some records (especially when housed in severe quantities like mine are), but as soon as the needle hit the vinyl, pretty much every hair on both my arms stood bolt upright.
From the initial awesome choir like atmospheres, followed by the subtle sine wave arpeggio, to the over awesome first gen gliding reese-esque bassline, you know it straight on, that this is no kiddie hardcore record. Not at all.
The two tracks i refer to, "Andromeda" and "Landing Pattern", are really in a league of their own, the titles say it all, but this really is total f**king space music. Intelligent, multi layered, sublime, paranoid, and very very serious.
The holy ghost crew always did it their own way, listen to any of the other back cat releases and you realize they wernt following current trends of the time, they just made the music they wanted to make.
But this is a very, very high point.
They (obviously) dont make them like this any more,
But in all honesty, No one ever made them like this -- Even then.
If you have never heard this, and your bang into your 92-93 jungle techno, this an absolute must.
