Scorb - Scorb

After several tracks on various Ambivalent compilations, Scorb releases his debut album. The first track has a groovy bass line, and some synthetic sounds jumping in and out of the track. A dark sound picture all the way. Track 2 starts with some weird spacey melody, before we get some rolling, faster rhythms. This track has more sounds and is a bit more psychedelic. Track 3 is a weird, chilled track. This sounds like some kind of scary movie music or something! Perfect for Halloween... Track 4 has some kind of break beat rhythms, with dark, floating sounds above. Pretty cool and experimental. Track 5 leads us back into the world of trance again. Dark and pumping, with heavy psychedelic sounds. You also get some guitar sounds in there. My favourite track on this album.

Track 6 is even darker and goes more minimal, with less heavy sounds, but at the end we get a crazy melody. Track 7 starts really scary, with a frightening floating sound. Then the rhythms starts pushing together with some totally crazy sounds that reminds me a little bit about Hux Flux. Track 8 continues in the same style. Crazy sounds all the way. Track 9 is the fastest track in this album (148 bpm), and starts pumping from the first second. You get several crazy sounds, but I think he easily could have put in some better melodies in there. I get a bit hard house feeling out of it. The last track on the album is the same style as track 9. Noisy melodies and a dark sound picture.

This album has some pretty cool tracks, but I feel that most of the tracks are lacking of something, either more melody or variation. A very dark album, so check it out if you dare.
