referencing Extended Engagement, 2xCD, FNR-79001-2

I wasn't really sure what to think when I first bought this mix CD. Now, though, after repeated listenings, I'm glad I did. Jesse shows throughout this comp why he is one of the top remixers/producers of the '00 decade. He isn't afraid to show some lighter moments to compliment the darker ones; and they're all here in what seems like a natural progression from sunny to stormy over the course of these two discs. Personal faves: his happy take on Milk & Honey, the David Bowie update (which has me clamoring for a sequel or a re-release), an utterly phenomenal rework of Dirty Vegas, the Kylie remix (her best ever in my book), and the dark & dirty feel of Pure Orange. A tad progressive, but not overly, which I liked a lot. Well, with his recent rash of top-notch and high-profile work (IIO, New Order, Lucy Woodward, Annie Lennox, Monica, Jewel, Dido, Ariel, Utada, Murk, Britney Spears...), and his chart success as Dutch, he will undoubtedly have a difficult time selecting tracks for Extended Engagement 2. But I'm guessing he wouldn't have it any other way. I'll be waiting. Have a fly on me, Jesse.
