I feel it's pretty futile to say much more than has been written elsewhere about Shake's wonderful instinct for electronically, almost intimately expressed emotion - very much evident here as well. (The track titles speak for themselves.) All I'll say is that from anecdotal evidence and from interviews, it appears the man's production rig was 100%-analogue-signal-path on the Frictional tracks till about the time of this EP. I've yet to hear similarly subliminally soothing harmonics, resonances and textures to the ones available on 'The Unsterilized Sessions', from a production process which I know has included a lot of digital processing.

Frictionalized uses Pan Sonic's Vapina like a charm.
