Reviews & Discussion

I remember this from top of the pops. It was number one in the charts for about 4 weeks. One week, I think the BBC had enough of the Shamen's pro ecsatsy lyrics and they replaced the original track with the Ritchie Hawtin mix. This remains a fond memory of mine, banging acid on mainstream television, and they still said eezer good too.

This was NEARLY banned by Top Of The Pops (a UK chart show) Only because The Shamen blagged it by claiming it was about a 'Dickensian Character' called Ebeneezer Goode did they avoid it.
Interviewed by Mark Goodier the day after a live TOTP peformance, Mark asked Mr.C why he had replaced the line 'Has anyone got any Veras?' with 'Has anyone got any Underlay', Mr.C replied 'Oh, it was a rug reference' He has since admitted it was a blatant (anti)drugs drug anthem.
Jerry Sadowitz appears in the video, also; as the 'Dickensian Character' himself.
