This album has many highlights though it doesn't have a Hidden Track - maybe having two dark instrumental tracks which make up for it. The first of which 'First, Love' is as eerie and industrial as you could wish for it to be.
There are still the darkwave tracks: Rachael, Written in Blood, True Romance and It's Just Begun... but there are much more surprises. There are songs straight out of the 80s such as: Pretend The World Has Ended, She Will Always Be A Broken girl and the quasi-New Order track This is The End.
The most shocking track of This is Forever has to be 'Checking Out' proving this band can do the most amazing deathrock impression as well. Both this and What I Want show off their influence from goth rock bands, most notably Bauhaus - just listen to Passion of Lovers after either: amazing!
For a long time Bauhaus and Depeche Mode fan, this album is a sigh of relief. The first album didn't seem to encorporate it's influences, but this album will restore your faith as it has mine.
