Just to add to the above... If you like DJ Shadow, you'll like this. One of the best downtempo hip hop albums available, period. Blurs the line between hip hop, trip hop, and dub. Flows well from one track to the next, as the other review says it plays like a soundtrack and fits together perfectly. I think the "Boxcutter" tracks fit right in. Nice guitars on the "Chainsaw" tracks as well.

Vaughn Robert Squire. Six Vicious Sixtoo. A man of many talents. This album is one of them.

It plays like a soundtrack, this one. Each track fits one after another like a puzzle being built (excluding the boxcutter emporium tracks, they're out of place, however they're dope aswell in their own right (part 3 boots it - good one, matey!)). Cut those out, and you got one flawless, spotless, clean (Mr. Clean), album. Quality stuff. A bit boring and tedious, but hell, what album dosent have its shitty moments?

This could all fit well in a dark, cyber-punk urban setting animated film or something. It is indeed superb. Drop a few bucks and get this or the LP's. I guess you could toss it on while driving down the highway or something. It somewhat fits that. Driving through some depressing, urban concrete jungle, with the windows open and the music playing. It's "hip hop", but it isnt. No, it's not like Boards of Canada or Prefuse 73, but its got that gritty electronic feel, all glitch like (but not overly so). So yes, scratch that, not a cyber-punk film, just your ass sitting in the car.

Good production, good beats, unique sound. It was worth the few bucks. Sixtoo has done tons of other dope shit aswell. I suggest you listen to it all, right?

A classic of moody somewhat abrasive electronic music. Reminds me of Boards of Canada if they made hip hop.
