Not what I was expecting, but it is outakes and demos. There's alot of fillers in the compilation, like "This Is Your Terror" which sounds like something from the Bites era, but the Demo's of Morphous, Candle and Amnesia are really great to hear. So raw and fairly different from the originals. What I found really interesting out of this whole compilation was the track "Those Loud Neighbours". It's a live remix of the Decree track "Talons Grasp". Although instrumental it's fairly noisey and I didn't expect this to appear on here at all. A fairly good outake comp, but they've done better.

More or less the only negative thing about this release I can muster is the 8 (!) week wait from my order to its arrival in my mailbox. Contrary to the previous reviewers posting that it's full of fillers I think that several of the tracks here are excellent outtakes and in some cases give insight to the creative processes behind such tracks as Process or Candle for instance which are great. I can agree with the fact that This Is Your Terror is somewhat misplaced, though it really reminds me of the track "The Van (Part II)" by Bradbury on the Corpuscle Plus CD which is constructed in more or less exactly the same way. My favorite tracks on here is K Storm and Sters 150 - which made the whole release a worthwhile purchase.

Staggeringly unessential now, this release serves, at best, as a nice reminder that Skinny Puppy used to be one of the most advanced/progressive/relevant electronic outfits out there.

Hey KevinX2, I can understand offering the fans some neat treats, but not at this price, and not with such meager offerings.

Songs fall into the following categories:

-Strictly noise based compostition (like early Download outtakes)
-Substandard (less interesting) demos of released material. Why?
-Throwaway "noodling" tracks.

As much as I hate to say it, there is absolutely no reason to buy this CD. I have all the other Back and Forth series, and most have at least some redeeming value. At best, this should have been a $4 digital download so you don't feel too bad only listening to it once or twice. Maybe drop the gate fold CD cover, and just send it in a simple envelope/sleeve.

The cover artwork is great.
