Reviews & Discussion

Review by Roots_Control Apr 25, 2006 (edited over 3 years ago)
This six tracker destined to become a classic kicks off with "Glamma" ,a haunting headnodder with a paranoid synth choir, bad acid string section and sh*t yer pants bassline.
Track two sticks with the same pace but is more minimal with its production.Crisp synths, sonic electronics and
swabs of bass all bathed in reverb and dub delays jostle for the ears attention.
"Smiley Face" sounds like a lost 1970's King Tubbys production that has been unearthed and remastered to perfection. Dangerous Dub reinvented for a new generation.
"Rottan"'s rumbling underbelly sits under dreamy woodwind,
digital strings and skanking glockenspiels eventually making way for its raw synth melody."Lightning" begins with an inventive take on the Amen Break before an epic KickDrum Rush breakdown introduces the stinking bassline.
"Hag" closes this mini album and bass takes control again as the low end wobbles about like a fat hippo filled with butane. All together a Beautifully produced treasure that lingers long after the needle reaches the silent grooves. Ditch your poached MP3 copy of this and buy it on vinyl in all its sonic glory.
