Samples the theme tune of the US childrens television show Sesame Street, also the character The Count counting.
There are at least three versions of this single with different artwork:-
1. The earliest artwork (seen on a promo copy) features a drawing of Oscar the Grouch from the TV show holding a suspiciously fat hand-rolled cigarette on the front inlay, the Cookie Monster character with the caption "get sorted!" on the inside inlay and the Cookie Monster without the caption on the CD artwork. This version gives full credit to the members of Smart E's.
2. This version removes the cartoon from the front and inside inlays, but keeps the credits and the Cookie Monster image on the CD.
3. This version removes the artist credits from the inlay and replaces them with writer and producer credits for "Stone/Hart/Raposo" (who wrote the original Sesame Street TV show theme music).
Incidentally the German issue on ZYX has essentially the same inlay artwork as the first version except for some minor changes (e.g. label and catalogue number) but different artwork on the disc (generic ZYX branding).
I bought this on the day of release and oscar appeared, doobie n all. Very shortly afterwards the sleeves we actually cut around the picture of the spliff smoking can dweller, thus removing him completely. A new batch we're issued with the offending Munted Muppet missing. Just a boring plain old cd inlay :( - bah - fight the power - Freedom to party :)
I have a promo release of this CD single which has extra artwork. On the front of the inlay is a picture of Oscar the Grouch sitting in his garbage can with a big spliff in his hand! On the inside the picture of the Cookie Monster from the CD artwork is repeated but with the text "get sorted!" added. Presumably such unsubtle drugs references weren't deemed appropriate for the official release. hehe.
Cat number is the same as the full release. Release date is given as 29 Jun 1992.
