Reviews & Discussion

One of the toughest old skool tracks around is on this EP, the first time I heard "The Owl" by Brian Dougans & Garry Cobain, the almighty legends of the early 90's (alongside KLF) under one of their 14 psuedonyms - Indo Tribe, I was instantly blown away. The track features the irresistable sample (please correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure they're the words) - "Step to me and let you mind flip, as I get with, on the industrial tip", combine this along with some of the chunkiest energetic beats ever prodcued for the dancefloor, you have a serious weapon on your hands. This track was going for over $300AU when I finally discovered it's name but paid a lot less once I finally found a copy. Highly recommended for fans of the early tech-break-rave sound. "The Owl" used to be my favourite release on Jumpin & Pumpin, but now it would have to be Smart Systems (another Dougans & Cobain alias) with "Tingler".
