With "Welcome To Tomorrow", Snap! logically followed the eurotechno wave they mostly contributed to with their massive 1992 hit "Rhythm Is A Dancer". Radically futuristic, the (superb) artwork of the CD booklet helped to define their new identity, as well as the videos of "Welcome To Tomorrow" and "World In My Hands", beautifully computer generated.
The first single, "Welcome To Tomorrow" didn't repeated the success of "Rhythm Is A Dancer" or "The Power". It was a small hit that wasn't well received in North America, probably because of the high BPM. However, Snap! delivered a good album with tracks like "Rame" (later released as their last single, in a new remixed version), "The First/Last Eternity", "Dream On The Moon", "Waves" (an excursion into ambient) and "It's Not Over".
The rest of the story is quite surprising. After the release of 2 compilations and a few years of silence, Snap! tried to return to a more poppy sound with a new single called "Gimme A Thrill", which turned out to be a major flop. A whole album was supposed to be released but finally, it was trashed. Since then, their songs have been remixed, re-remixed, re-re-remixed... and that's about it. Tragic end, isn't it?
