I absolutely hate this rework. I do am a fan of Kathrine but this don't feel right at all. Everybody should know this by know as they beefed up the beats, added the used-one-time-too many percussions on it and dropped a messy and un-arranged vocal on top of it. I also think the production sucks big time with the mix of the old sounds combined with new.

Like many others, i love the original Strings Of Life and this was, like the Innercity -"Big Fun" rework a few years ago, a poor attempt in the end. Because of the popularity of the original, this was bound to be a hit in clubs and radio. And after listening to it you just sit there cold like a question mark thinking: "What's the point?".

Leave the classics alone please, i beg you all.
This stunt has been done better with Bucketheads - "The Bomb" to mention one, but this cash-in job is total bollocks.
And that Danny Krivit put a hand on it is another think i dont really get.

This was probably the most popular cut at Movement (Detroit) '03. The white label promos must have just come out, because it was getting dropped right and left, and the commercial pressing was still months away. I'll never forget hearing Ron Trent milk the sh*t out of this, driving a good Detroit crowd absolutely nuts.

Well, I love this remake. Though the piano "improvisation" part in the Danny Krivit mix sounds a bit forced, yes, there is more percussion and more production, but it adds a lot of epic to an already epic and marvelous piece of music. It retakes the piano loop, it takes the same synth, and it mixes it with tension making it one of the best feelings in dancefloors when it has the break. The vocal edit is also quite good, transforming a detroit song into an ibiza vocal house hit.

If the people behind the remake call themselves "Soul Central" is very simple: this remake has a lot of soul, it's sentimental and maybe melodramatic, it makes you feel good and it's one of the better homages to the beginnings of electronica I've listened to. A highlight, no doubt.
