Reviews & Discussion

Review by Soul_Brother Sep 29, 2010 (edited about 1 year ago)
Produced by Richard de Bois and written with Peter Van Asten. They are known for founding and producing at that time Dutch girl band The Dolly Dots. The song was composed by Spence himself like for his other studio works.

The cutting guitar cuts the rhythm in really cool and the bass is groovy. Synths and drums are well programmed and go good with the rhythm. The vocal of Spence which freely uses the falsetto voice is strong. The girls (probably Dolly Dots members) chorus has been well put together.

Aired on Ferry Maat's Soul Show in fall 1983 it had quite positive ratings. It stayed several weeks in The Disco Action Top 20 from the show.

The Maxi-Single is a nice remix (by Ben Liebrand apparently but not credited) of the Single version. It's a shame that there is no instrumental version of Get It On instead you have the title Madonna who is not bad anyway.

It's a nice record and by far his best or one of his best.
