Absolutely spanking UK deep tech/house in the fine Northern tradition of quality house music, and on Clive (Peace Division) Henry's excellent 'Low Pressings' label. I heard Bushwacka! drop this in Basics on the week of release and the dancefloor roared! Created (so I'm told by friends of producers Hungry Dave Clements, Jim Sheasby and Shifty) on a gloomy Sunday afternoon in a back room of inner-city Leeds, this slice of hard bouncing groove-cake is a true underground classic. Though coming up to six years old, one can truly say this chunky slab of vinyl has surely stood the test of time, the infectious rolling heavy bass seems to build and build, washed over again and again by Hungry Dave's cool, lush chords which freq in gradually, punctuated by a sample of what could be Gil Scott-Heron waxing lyrical about the corruption of Law and politics. Mainly, though this is a belter for the dancefloor, and if this don't get you twitching then you must be already dead, or at least well on your way! What a tune! 10/10 :)
