Reviews & Discussion

Rated 3/5

A few weeks ago, me and a few friends who are all very much into electronic music found out that for all of us it started with this album because it was so well advertised we all bought it in our younger years. And of course we all bought the original versions later.

The point is of course that, though it are indeed inferiour versions of great originals, the album was very popular at the time. That way it influenced a whole new generation of future musicians and consumers of electronic music, making the album relevant despite it is only cover versions.

Please note that this record and most other of its kind (instrumental synthesizer compilations) are COVER VERSIONS that while they try to stay true to the original actually butcher the songs because production is such an important part of this kind of music. So in one line: don't buy this crap, buy the original recordings instead!
