Reviews & Discussion

Review by Marvin_Ennis Feb 17, 2008
When we recorded this album it was around the same time I began working on another album with my group MARZ. You see, although I joined the group Starpoint at the age of 11, I also had a band I formed with guitarist Bill Pettaway... that was signed at the same time to Liberty/EMI Records. Lionel Job used to mange both of our groups at the time. I was like a double agent.(which I had learned from George Clinton back in the day)I always figured that the world was large enough to have 2 bands out there from the same area... The rest of the guys never saw it that way.. and that's why you never saw me on the album covers... You got to see Ky instead...

This particular Starpoint album was when we really put our hearts and souls into trying to make our mark. As I can remember we recorded it at a studio called Minot Sound in White Plains, New York. We recorded the music in one week and then the vocals the next.. then the mixes, etc. At that same time we were witnessing artists working in the same studio having great success with their records like Atlantic Starr, Luther Vandross, Bob James was working on the tv series TAXI soundtrack there at the studio... Dave Sanborn was working with Marcus Miller...

I just want to say this to any of our old fans, we truly did appreciate your support and were thankful for you being willing to buy our records and come to our concerts. Whether it was us playing at Madison Square Garden or some 200 seater in San Hose, we truly appreciated your support. Thanks a million!
