People go crazy about Astral Notes Parts 1&2, but don't overlook the track Satyricon. It has a break in the middle and towards the end, that sounds like Steve Rachmad went down into the basement of his house and started bangin' on the pipes. Just amazing stripped down Techno.
this album is a truly inspired effort from steve rachmad, and is perhaps the best release on 100% pure, which is a solid label to begin with. although there is not a single bad cut on this full-length, the sheer brilliance, beauty and soul of the last track, astronotes, has seldom if ever been surpassed in the realm of techno. the scintillating synth line, chord changes, and soaring feeling of the track make this a true classic. although rachmad is now more focused on the dancefloor, this serves as a reminder of how musically talented the guy really is.
