Steve Bug at work again. This Mix is so far above the usual DeeJay Mix Business we find on web-sites and run-of-the-mill mixed Label Compilations. It took me nearly a year to fully appreciate the new sound Steve Bug is representing here.
He starts with the debut by an (at that time) unknown newcomer : Patrick Chardronnet - "Ledge" already got all the ingredients that made his "Eve By Day" one of the Top 3 Tunes of 2005. The goodies keep arriving one by one : Justin Maxwell, Tanzmann's "Anyway" , B. - Minikool. Sasse brings a new aspect into the mix, while short parts from Jimmy 19 and Claro Intelecto trax are picked before Charles Webster's beautiful remix of "The Sad Piano" brings back the harmonies and melodic beauty that is typical for this mix. From here on it always stays at the same level and tempo. The Pokerflat Mid Tempo Groove exactly between House and Techno, wih perfect rhythmic precision and melodc beauty keeps grooving along. Steve Bug uses some signature sounds and sticks around 125 BPM till the end of the mix.

The best part for me is following now with adventurous tunes by I:Cube (Dixon's Edit), Cem Salman's "Heaven", Boogie Drama's science-fiction tale "Zardoz" (Stylophonic Live 'N' Direct Mix) and Josh Wink's Remix of Stefan Goldmann's "Shimmer" . Guido Schneider has the order to bring back the
Pokerflat Sound with his pefect PFR 50 release. Another outride "Darkness" by Audiomontage leaves some play-time before The Lover Boy himself returns (again in Guido Schneider's Remix). Tigerskin and Prins Thomas (as remixer for Kango's Stein Massiv) both add some Disco Sounds and Cowbells followed by ADJD's "Audio Mechanic" Techno Power , while Justus Koehnke places the Bomb with 7:19 minutes "Timecode".

Fantastic track selection again. Remember how Steve Bug succeeded to make a perfect Mix on Minimal Funk Vol. 3 with just the choice of 10 trax ? Here he uses Traktor and 19 trax from different labels and comes up with a 79 minute ride along the edges of melodic Deep House and forward thinking Techno. The mix moves and grooves along, ebbs and flows with academic precision without loosing the much welcomed melodic moments that make BUGNOLOGY such an entertaining affair.
