Respect to Mr Steve Bug. This guy is definitely among germany's most important and talented musicians, producers, DeeJays and Label Head. The CD Mix on CD 1 might sound too much 2002/2003 to be really interesting in 2006, most tunes are overplayed by now and the sound design has changed a lot since then.
I am talking here strictly about the second CD. Compiled by Steve Bug. Timeless quality tunes, thst grabbed my attention last night and today immediately after the first few seconds into Eerik's mysterious "Shimmer" track = a great opener while the mighty anthem of Joakim's "Are You A Vegetarian" forces the listener's attention to an even deeper level. Here comes in one of the most exciting facts of this mix: The great vocals and lyrics used on this very set.
Sunday Brunch heat things up with one of the best SVEK Trax ever, John Tejada helps setting the strict musical tone while two different musicians/vocalists always succeed to draw attention to other details : Jimpster with his freaked out Jazz vibe and Ursula Rucker, who joines in with massive black narratives and Raps, that gives this Copilation a dark afro-centric vibe and meaning. Dr. Rockit, antonelli electri. and esp. my friends from France Chateau Flight with their anthemic remix of "Your Brain On Drugs" add the fine psychedelic touch to this awesome collectiom. Excellent how all this components work together on this minimal funk mix.
