I was surprised to see this mix was rated under 4/5 and the review above wasn't all that positive.

I thought this is one of the better albums from the Fabric series.

The album is a mash up between tech house and minimal. I'd say it's what you'd expect to hear from Steve Bug.

I felt the album is really strong until about track 15 where it slows down a bit and looses the pace. Before that it's deep and banging, after track 15 the mix seems a bit confused as to where he wants to take it.

The darkest and strangest mix i heard from Steve Bug. It takes a while to get into the groove, since the material here is not very melodic and has none of that modern Trance Flair we are used to atm. So it is easy to put this off as a less inspired or boring CD. That was my first reaction. But after all it is Steve Bug that created it, so i gave it another chance and this time it clicked. The longer you get used to those strange sounds and dry beats, the more you get sucked into the mix. Once you start to dig the sound architecture you have to raise the volume level and let these trax fill the room and invade your mind.

This release lacks a bit of edge in its attempt to float between minimal and something deep. Its not all the sharpest tracks. Peace Division certainly usually manages to squeeze more atmosphere into their beats - and Ryo Murakamis very vivid minimal tracks don't get full justice in this set.
Overall it's hard to get carried away. This record can't really decide if it wants to go wild or stay at home being a nice little mix.
Too bad. Many of the tracks has a lot of potential.
