Reviews
- To my ear, this release summed up a lot of Roach's work over the last 5 years or so, and I think that the two "Part 2" discs are better than "Part One." The first disc balances two trends or directions in Steve's work: the "pure flow" direction (e.g., "The Ambient Expanse") and the "dark ambient" feeling (e.g., "The Magnificent Void"). There's some of the "subterranean/submerged" direction, too (e.g., "Early Man," some of "Ascenscion of Shadows."). The second disc is taken up by the single long-form and aptly named "Piece of Infinity," beautiful and elegant in its simplicity, construction, and s l o w harmonic progression.
