djhustler - I think you maybe miss the point of this single. It was a pretty ballsy move by The Sugababes label to tie them in to the 'mash-up' thing that had been happening in the clubs around that time. This was produced by Richard X who had released under his Girls On Top name a single using the Adina Howard vocal over the Gary Numan backing. If nothing else it's a great pop record.

I have to say I registered on discogs specifically so I could disagree with the previous comment about this corking tune. I heard it for the first time when Sanchez played it in Pacha 2 years ago and I've just managed to get hold of it. I think this is a great DJ tune: it does what the best house music should do - makes women dance, boys smile and chin-scratchers head for the door.... It drops the grating Gary Numan sample, avoids a straight 4x4 makeover with some interesting almost breakbeat at the beginning before launching into the tune. Lovely! All of the above ONLY applies to the different gear mix!! So there.

Well if you take away the famous “Are 'Friends' Electric?” sample that helps out this tune in the main, what you get in the end is three cute girls just about 18, which is neither Gary Numan effect nor the Sugababes - just a poor image of confectionist pop the way we know it; expensively irritating in the face of today's youth swallowing almost everything the music industry serves them as a hit. Despite the fact that Sugababes intrigued us alright with their excellent hits 'Overload' and 'Round and Round', they sadly failed to overcome the one-hit-wonder impression and simply became another one of today's mainstream expendable merchandise - r'n'b cliches coupled with make up the way most of such faceless Christinas, Anastacias, Whitneys, Alicias, Ashanties, etc. pose for a Grammy or Top of the Pops.
