Whlie I enjoy today's "trance" music about as much as anyone really should, hearing a record like this brings me a sad reminder that music like this just isn't made anymore. These two tracks provide a pure and simple definition of what "epic" trance really should be: musically interesting, constantly changing elements, and building suspense and emotion through means other than twiddling the frequency knob on a filter.
To me, this record is dated, in the sense that it sounds so much better than most of what gets called "trance" today. Superb.
There's also parts three and four which never saw release, but samples can be downloaded from Marc Mitchell's website.
