Rather of a turning point for the Counterbalance label where Anthony Child starts to lean even more into the industrial and "IDM" sound. The title is based on P.Miller and M.Devon's "Screw the roses, send me the thorns", a book based on the romance of SM... which makes the sounds being used on this ep understandable :p
You can hear it near the end of the track (it's the gated female voice).
Other tracks probably include other samples but i haven't been able to identify them yet.
Quality record btw !!!
