Reviews & Discussion

A couple of reviews I spotted have been lukewarm towards this mix, personally it's one of my favourite in the "goldstandard" of electronica/dance compilation mixes that is Fabric. Considering the competition and the obvious thought that goes into the Fabric releases and the fact I come back to this one frequently must surely justify a position amongst the very best mixes of the last few years. Tasteful and beatifully constructed track selection, flawlessly mixed (perhaps too flawless...bet my last roll of bog roll at a festival that this wasn't mixed on vinyl) but irrespective a defining mix that has laid the foundations and blueprint for many of the mixes that have followed in the series to date, even so far as Michael Mayer etc.

Solid mix from Swayzak with three distinct parts. That's not to say the mixing is poor either. Starts out with some of the best tech house I've heard in a long time. Moves into some minimal vocal electro about the Royksopp remix of What Does it Feel Like and finishs off with some funkier electro after the genius that is LCD Soundsystem. Again, it's a great mix and one that's opened many doors for me.

Very interesting Mix CD from Swayzak. Full with unknown artists for me, but also full with beautiful tracks. Very interesting mixing that starts from deep house track from Mathew Johnson and then goes to more light and for me very dance track - Skidoos from Akufen and the next ons is a very light and sexy track from Luomo [Vladislav Delay]. The most excelent moment of the cd for me. Remarkable.

A almost flawlessly mixed Fabriclive from an artist I've not ever heard of. The transitions between songs are the smoothest ive heard to date, but innovative as well. Not only are they smooth, but they are creative and original. The tracks that are mixed are nothing common either. Some tracks are by not very highly recognized artists, but they ARE still really good. Overall, this is a great Cd.
