I have a chequered history with Swayzak CDs (Snowboarding... classic and essential, get it today! ; Bergerie... most disappointing Cd I have ever bought - see my reviews of these CDs for more) so I knew I was gambling when I ordered another copy... well...
It's damn good! (phew!)
CD1 has lots of the techy-dubby tunes with strange high end sounds (herein, a japanese flute over crackling tech house, for example) that makes Snowboarding... such a classic album. Why on earth Swayzak held off releasing these tunes until they put out this CD I dont know. Subway travel, the 4th half-hour-long tune seems to be four farly similar mixes of the same tune arranged end-to-end and, as such, is probably the weaker part of the CD but really, it's all good and the other outstanding tracks make this kind of essential listening
CD2 features a very interesting mixes (essentially 3 themed mixes back to back) from a techno-electronic-glitch-electro mould. None of these mixes are exactly straight-forward club material : they are a little more abstract than the tunes on the first CD and a deal more varied in style.
