It's obvious that there's a connection between Sync24- and Carbon Based Lifeforms-sound. At first, you must like this disc, if you're onto CBL-style. Otherwise, I think, Daniel has an independent style, which is just a little bit tend to the duo. I could define his music as true and pure ambient with some psychedelic acid flavour, and sometimes with minimal interferences.
Till today we only knew Sync24 from a few compilations, and it wasn't hard to tell that Daniel is very talented. Finally, here is a complete album, a perfectly worked ambient journey form the first minute till the end.
Must buy!

First thing is first. There will be an obvious comparision for this album and Carbon Based Lifeforms - World of Sleepers.

Honestly, in my opinion, Source blows W.O.S. right out of the water (now Hydroponic garden is another story). Source is much more quiet and ambient then anything Carbon Based Lifeforms has released. It lacks the acid beats for the most part, and relies on atmosphere much more. The result is quite pleasing and its almost like a Carbon Based Lifeforms Jr. Some people might take offense to that and claim this is a separate outing completely. However, Daniel himself said the album is at least 50% CBL sound.

In either case, its a safe bet if you're a fan of CBL or Ultimae in general, then you'll love this album. Standouts for me are "Memloop" with its hypnotic beat pattern and "mBorg" for its warm IDM sound.
