Not one for Talk Talk purists as, vocals aside, there's often very little left of the original track as recorded.

The standout is perhaps "Happiness Is Easy", unsurprisingly as that is the sole track to have been remixed by members of the band. In typical Talk Talk 12" fashion, it drops most of the vocals & plays up the percussive elements, but IMO is as strong as the original track.

Other highlights: Fluke's LWYMI, replacing the driving piano chords of the original with an equally effective bassline; 4 To The Floor's dub creates a rhythmic groove; Dominic Woosey's ambient rework of "It's My Life" works weel, and Justin Robertson's typically early-90s mix of "Dum Dum Girl" presses all thr right buttons.

Valiant effort from Gary Miller for unusual mixes that don't quite hit the mark. Least favourite mixes are by BBG (cheap & nasty rhythm track) and Julian Mendelsohn (delivers little more than a bad edit of the original).

History reinvented it may be, but at least some involved had some respect for the source material...
