The above image should prove to be useful for all of the confused public out there ;)
It is the difference between the bar-codes of the two editions.

Aside from the barcode layout differences that can be seen on the photos posted on the Aussie version page, one can differentiate between two sealed versions of this LP by looking at the fine print on the rear of the jacket. The words "MARKETED AND DISTRIBUTED BY UNIVERSAL MUSIC AUSTRALIA UNDER EXCLUSIVE LICENSE." appear on the Aussie press (cut at 45) and not the UK press (cut at 33 1/3).

It's correct to divide these two issues based on the rpm's, but man this is ridiculous.

There is an engraved text near the center of the record saying something like Michael @ abbeyroad or something (can't really remember the name exactly). Maybe That could distinguish them.

True2 you're right. I've ordered mine directly from modular people in Australia. It was mentioned on the website "Seciond pressing". That means that the first pressing was strickly limited to 500 copies. But there's no differences between both. they have EXACTLY the same serial number, and are STRICKTLY identical.

BTW, LP still available.

I have both first and second pressing and there's nothing to distinguish them.
Barcodes, runouts etc. even download coupon.
Perhaps Modular used a different coding on the download code itself which may help?

The notes on this are correct, Modular penned and marketed this as a limited release of 500 for sales and then changed their minds once the lp did well and repressed it. This is dishonest and wrong.

I don't know if the repress is exact, I am assuming so but I can't verify. So all those people buying them on ebay for a lot of money, save your dollars and buy it anywhere. I know a lot of people who bought this album under the pretenses that this was a 500 press.
