Tes La Rok - Up In The VIP / Livin Fire

"Up in the VIP." is completely ridiculous and will likely be either forgotten already or be remembered as one of dubstep's tombstones. The vocal is awful, pompous and unfortunately catchy. The music on the tune is nothing particularly new or groundbreaking and sounds like some soft, top forty R&B material for grown-ups. This record is somewhat salvaged by the easy skankin' of "Livin' Fire".

This release can be summed up thusly: "Up in the VIP." Sounds like one of those tracks that will show up in 20 years on K-Tel's "Now, That's What I Call Dubstep Volume 4".

'Up In The VIP' has a real summertime vibe about it with reggae skanks, upbeat drums and rolling bass and with the vocal talents of Uncle Sam it becomes one of those tunes that sticks in you’re head days after you’ve heard it. On the flip Tes goes for some dub influenced vibes with this roller, a lovely piece of music that you can listen to again and again but will keep the dance floor moving. With delicate vocals, sweet acoustic guitar licks but with bouncing beats and bass, this one shows another musical edge to this dynamic producer.
