This release is a sequel to Psychic Tv's 'A Hollow Cost' and in my opinion surpasses it manyfold, even if it is a bit more dance-friendly in places. The music itself is very reminiscent of Throbbing Gristle, but more transcendant perhaps. Genesis' spoken words are top notch, blending seamlessly with the music. My particular favourites are 'Avatar', in which mantras move in and out of the space the music creates like shadows dancing around a flame, and 'Maybe Who E Am', an exploratory track with a dark tribal tone that evokes a sort of nighttime urban wanderlust (for me anyway). I'm a fan of many of Genesis P-Orridge's other written and spoken works and his genius really shines here. This is one of my favourite cds of all time and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for dark, intelligent, and even slightly pagan music to get lost in and absorb.
