Massive album from the Detroit Don, this set contains some of his finest beats. Proving here that he can turn his hand to a number of different styles and still sound original is testament to his class. Highlights include the low slung ‘Soul Control’ sounding kinda like a slowed down ‘Voodoo Ray’ via Detroit with added melancholy and tension, ‘The Rink’ a Moodymann style funk groove and ‘Synthetic Flemm’ a slow burning, mutating Acid Monster.
