Review by TEKNONUTTERSep 19, 2004(edited over 5 years ago)
This release containing both the original - (UK Breakbeat Mix) also released on Fokus Recordings, and the Toxic Two Remix, the Toxic Two Remix being the full-length version which is unfortunately cut short on the Ffrreedom release but not on here.
What can be said about this release apart from it being a stone cold classic, is that it's absolutely stormin' and was hammered to death throughout 1992.
UK Breakbeat Mix;
This was a peak-time tune that was instantly recognzable by that eerie sounding horn and the most raucous, darkest, full-on, slammin', breakbeats and bass known to man...accompanied by insane stabs and dark & dirty acid distortion, with vocoder samples taken off Egyptian Lovers'classic electro tune Egypt, Egypt. This appealed to both techno & drum n bass djs/producers alike...truly hardcore!
Toxic Two Remix;
Flip to the other side and you've got a wicked, dark, dirty remix on the massive, stompin', hardcore techno tip, massive with all the techno and hardcore djs of the time. This time full of insane hoover noises, subtle 303 and a drop halfway through which is one of those "I've totally lost it" moments, not forgetting that insane, hypnotic "horn riff" which weaves in and out like an evil snake being charmed.
Don't know where that horn riff was lifted from, but boy does it do the job. Unforgettable classic for those who were there.
