I'm coming to this Titonton record for the first time in its incarnation as a re-release and I have to say, to me, it's starting to sound a little dated. This is overall straightforward stuff: the sounds are all the classic ones for techno/house: 808, 909, 303 and really, I can hear little else. Make no mistake, this man is clearly an expert at breathing new life into a form which is getting old. But for me, like many albeit sincere releases in what I'll refer to as this 'classic' school (a more recent example could be The Berlin Sessions by Juan Atkins) it seems something approaching a chore to sustain one's interest over several tracks like this in a single sitting.
From the first soothing synth to the last quircky beat this is the best overall release by Titonton. Its got everything from slow sexy tracks, to electro, to hard pounding techno all flavored with that wonderful, melodic, drum machine tweakin' Titonton style.
