I love Waits, and this cd is the one by him that has been most played on my CD player. as much as i appreciate Waits studio recordings, it is the Waits live on stage i love the most. Its Tom Waits more rawer than anything else where he truly express his voice to the most extreme. Big Time features his most inspiring tracks from the early years. Waits fans probably know that this CD is based on the movie Big Time. The film is sort of a Theatrical-concert movie that displays some of the songs featured on the CD. A handfull of the songs are the same as on the cd both excact versions and different versions. There is also some songs that dont feature on the CD as well and vice versa. The original VHS still goes for $40-50 dollars on E-bay but there is also a Bootleg-like DVD in excistense as well. Fans should track it down and since i have it, i can assure you that the image quality and sound is quite good on the DVD, Not to say better. Essential Waits material to own.
