The best collaboration here is not with Ewan Pearson, nor is it with Charles Webster. Alex Santos & Tracey Thorn harken me back to the days of "walking wounded," "protection," or "the tree knows everything." Fully replete with micro effects, yet simple & characteristic of that deep, melancholic Thorn lyricism, the track soars through the valleys of the "Grand Canyon." The King Unique mix, although not present here, pushes it towards a hardfloor style nerve wrecker (slightly for the better). If there is one complaint, it is not her looks, nor her penchant for using the same scales & melodic progressions. It is that there is only one standout on the LP, which, with some more editing & tweaking, could have been a better overall release.
