Trentemøller - Polar Shift

It's not a coincidence that "Chameleon" is just like Plastikman's "Consumed" project; it's obviously copying it in a way that displays self-awareness. Which is why the track is titled as such. I can do it too." Someone should e-mail him and ask; I'm not going to bother. I'm just going to buy this release. Hats off to Trentemøller for making some sick minimal!

Superb release, no doubt about that.
Polar shift reminds me a bit of Hawtin's 'Consumed' album.
Same build, same use of deepfrozen subbass and an intelligent use for the dark and sinister noises.
If I would have to choose between Hawtin's consumed or this one than it would definately be Hawtin.
But this one's in my collection as well so .........

In my opinion the best release by Trentemøller yet. Polar Shift fires at you from all kind of different angles with crystal clear production, crinkly minimal sounds and a climax that is extatic while being deep-frozen at the same time. Sounds like colliding submarines below the polar ice.
