Trinity - Gangsta / I Selassie I

Gangsta: It wasn't so long ago when all drum & bass tracks sounded like this. Hearing them was a bit like staring down the wrong end of a smoking crack pipe; raw, unwashed and sounding very much like it’d been recorded in someone’s bathroom on some dodgy South London council estate, more than likely using a stolen 4-track of some description.

Regardless of either the era or the production techniques employed, the OJ Mix of Gansta gives a good snap-shot of the UK drum & bass being produced at this time, which was still pretty minimal but decidedly edgy and driven.
