Footwars the track was written about the style of dance mainly involving footwork, called the 'jit.' The name jit originates from Detroit’s own ‘Jitterbug’ dance. The Jitterbug involved rapid footwork in the dance, and the growing 'war' between Chicago and Detroit jit dance groups gave birth to the 'footwars.' The lyrics in the track are "we made the jit."
While electronic music had its roots all over, techno came from Detroit. And swing dancing also was popular all over America in the early 20th century, but the Jitterbug was Detroit's own just as techno was. Detroit based dance crew 'The X-menn' that are famous for dancing the jit have danced live on stage alongside performances of Juan Atkins several times further pulling together the history of Detroit music and dance. "We made the jit, we made techno, we are Detroit." Underground Resistance certainly know how to craft Detroit's rich history into mind blowing music.
