Umek - Time Warp Compilation.04

Umek's Time Warp 4 is one of the best three mix compilations I've ever heard. It isn't only the track selection that blows me away, it's the exceeding mixing art that proves the abilities of the Slovenian master.

My only point of critisism is that the second half of the set can't keep up with the first one. Nonetheless a terrific piece of Techno history.

On the back side of booklet is written:
"We have been releasing our time-warp-mix cds for three years now and are very proud that after Gayle san and Adam Beyer no one less than the slovenian shooting star Umek has worked his turntables to produce an energetic mix of the finest quality. Following the tradition of his live performances umek displays his definition of pumping techno in a more than one hour power mix.
On this cd Umek contributes to the state-of-the-art in a clear and minimal way. Fans of a straightforward 4/4 rhythm will have their heart beat faster but also more hip-orientated techhouse-style listeners will completely have their needs pleased by Umek's set since the man behind the decks never forgets that being uncompromising can be sexy.
Especially the use of multiple special effects (air-fx,
e-fx50, pioneer 600 mixing desk) makes this compilation stand out of the multitude of mix-cds and gives Umek's Time Warp set a character of its own.
Also two tracks were composed exclusively for the cd whit intro and outro.

This compilation is the shit!!! When I first listened to it I thought it was too hard and had the feeling tracks didn't go very well with each other, so it stayed somewhere between the dust for two months... but then I gave it a listen once more and I was sold! Amazing pumping techno with awesome EFX. This is WAY better (also way harder) than "The torture chamber 2". I'm totally addicted to it, Give us more Umek!
