I just love this album. From the dirty depths of Suburban Knights electro-funk fuelled 'Maroon' to the the up beat distorted break beats of 'Mirage', with its trade mark UR sounds, this album will NOT disappoint. The best compilation released so far under the UR banner.

A rarified inspirational tour de force. The funk BOMB!
Every track as strong as the last. No exceptions. Afrogermanic the perfect fusion of Kraftwerk and Detroit. Drexciya track Aquaticizem is a moody number as you'd expect, with that distinctive vocoder and always original programming.
Mad Mike appears with the haunting eastern instrumentation and 160bpm electro mayhem on Moor Horseman... Rolando does his thing on the low slung electro funk of Mi Raza. Tracks credited simply as UR - Negative Evolution and Nannytown - are devillishly deep electro cuts indeed.

Obvious club killers are the vengeful Maroon (so named after the renegade slaves that waged a guerrilla war on their captors) and the uplifting funky discoid mentalness of Soulsaver.

Andre Holland provides some great moody interludes and breaks as well as the track Unabomber which is reminiscent of the techno dub aesthetics of Basic Channel. Not forgetting the lyrical Mirage courtesy of Chuck Gibson, that questions the reality of our Perception.

I may have to get another copy soon, I swear mine is getting thinner.

A real gem this release, in particular the grtty electro funk of 'Marron', the almost breakbeat drum pattern of 'Mirage' and the techno-soul of 'soulsaver'
