Yes, this track by the S-Man is really something special; a real slice of musical genius on par with any other New York house or garage release. The track is widely recognised as one, if not the, deepest and sexiest piece of garage music ever put to wax, and one listen shows why. The bassline is hypnotic and funky, yet still deep and mellow. The vocal, which informs the title of the track, is taken from an equally legendary slice of underground dance music from New York City, a track by Loose Joints released on West End Records entitled Is It All Over My Face, which received a remix by the great Larry Levan, DJ at the Paradise Garage. The flutes, keys, and organ all provide a quite erotic mood in the track and it's just amazing. The production is squarely aimed at the DJ floor, with appropriately timed breakdowns and track subtractions. Lastly, the sheer brilliance of this track is evinced by noting that it was made in 1990 - nearly 20 years ago. Damn Roger, you are truly the S-Man. RIP Levan, Arthur Russell, Walter Gibbons, and the Paradise Garage.

What can I say? Luv Dancin' (from my own experience) was probably THE track that broke Strictly Rhythm as a label in the UK. People raved about this track, from the familiar vocal sample to the tight drum & symbol arrangement, leaning to a kind of jazz-like atmosphere, and then the flute would drop in.

a sublime track indeed , and one that should be owned on the UK pressing as the vocal dominates in a way it doesn't on the US version. I remember in the early '90's nearly wetting myself after managing to get a recording of this tune on tape after hearing it at "The Brain" on Wardour Street amidst a blur of strobe-light insanity , early house style dancing and poppers wafting through the air. I took that tape everywhere with me and never tired of playing it. I still play the record and have a fairly recent memory of hearing Roger Sanchez himself play it at a surreal "Cooking" evening hosted by LTJ Bukem and featuring Mr "I've had the same stoopid beard since time began" Sanchez as the main guest. The night failed to attract many punters indeed and you could clearly see Mr "where is that razor , I need a shave" Sanchez was not expecting such a small group as he IS a LEGEND you know... Anyway , I got the impression that he felt that he could play records he wouldn't usually get the chance to play and so played this very tune. I walked up to the DJ booth and gave him that knowing-nod. Respect. Now have a shave and get back in the studio in a mellow frame of mind ; life ain't all about tribal beats you know.
